an evening of memorable indulgence at one of australia’s finest dining rooms. david coomer’s innovative cuisine focuses on premium quality local produce with an asian inspiration. ‘the signature menu’ is a progressive dinner consisting of six of david’s finest culinary creations, featuring a star anise favourite ‘mahor’; a decadent combination of seared fremantle scallops, accompanied by caramelized duck, peanuts and pineapple. ‘the signature menu’ is the quintessential star anise experience.

the wine list is intuitively designed to compliment star anise’s menu. the list is a mixture of contemporary australian names, wine makers and international labels. the wine progression accompanies ‘the signature menu’ harmoniously; challenging, complimenting and is customised to your taste.

star anise is situated in a humble shenton park establishment; softly lit and separated into three enchanting rooms, featuring a private dining room comfortable for 16 people. the ambience is welcoming, cosy and modern with splashes of the orient for your evening in.
